No results from Cal-DOJ after 2 weeks, what do I do? California Department of Justice typically sends the result within 48 hours. However, it can take up to a few weeks. The California Board of Nursing requires a full set of 10 fingerprints be submitted to both levels of service (the Department of Justice and FBI) when a nursing license is renewed. This is a requirement if you were originally fingerprinted with a hard card (Before 2009) and Digital Prints (before 2011) did not include FBI. The report that you will receive will include your entire California criminal history from the Department of Justice. To remove a conviction from a Live Scan background check you must receive an expungement, pardon, or record sealing. Expungement in California does not remove a conviction from your record but instead changes the conviction to a dismissal. Who can use the services of a FBI Channeler? This service can be provided to U.S. Citizens or permanent residents with a valid government photo identification. Who needs the services of a FBI Channeler? The main advantage of using an FBI Channeler is to speed up the process of receiving a FBI History Summary Check Report. When requesting the report directly from the FBI, the process can take up to 16 weeks. FBI Channelers such as Miracle Mail Print and Business Center, can typically have the PDF version of report in about 24 hours. However, channelers can only request Identity History Summary Checks for American citizens and permanent residents.
